Midtown madness 3 paris5/15/2023 Remember, monuments are often surrounded by nice parks, so don't be shy about cutting through the lawn if it'll help your time. Monumental Recommended Ride: MINI Cooper S This track takes you through most of the big monuments in the city. Notice the paint can hanging in the air? Do this same run with the Saab 9-3 and grab the can to score some new color. You can also drive down the stairs to the right or left, but where's the fun in that? More Hints: Once you hit the sixth gate, gun it over the embankment and you'll go airborne, dropping roughly two stories to the street below. Shortly after you land, get ready for a sharp left, then just follow the arrow under the Eiffel Tower and finish up. Vault off of it, and you'll collect some goodies. After you hit the sixth checkpoint, look for the dirt ramp leading up to a massive dropoff (with stairs on both sides). Be sure to blow up the map (by clicking the right analog stick in) to see exactly where to go. and use that handbrake! After that are a series of sharp turns. After the third checkpoint, there's a hard right turn, so be prepared for the arrow to turn sharply. As you make the turn into checkpoint three, make sure you have the proper angle and hit the correct street.įinishing this race will unlock the next three Blitz races, and the MINI Cooper S.Ī Piece of Paris Recommended Ride: MINI Cooper S Why not race with your new car? You'll need good handling in this race anyway, as it has some hairpin turns and a lot of cross traffic. More Hints: You'll begin by following the river. Just swerve around it and keep heading straight to finish. The only other point of trouble is the statue that blocks the path right after the seventh checkpoint. You'll want to angle down the first street as the arrow turns, but you need to head up one more block and take a hard left to hit the checkpoint. Wild French West Recommended Ride: Opel Astra On the west side of gay Paris, you'll encounter this nine-point race. It's important to maximize these stretches and hit your car's top speeds. Whenever you're on a long stretch of road like this, make sure you have the accelerator pressed to the floor. More Hints: As you can tell from the map, this course is mainly straightaway. On the return trip, make sure you're following the yellow arrow down the correct street and simply floor it. Gun it down the straightaways and ease up on the gas as you peel around the Arc. You'll have plenty of time to hit all of your checkpoints, so just get used to the controls, the HUD and the arrow that points the way.Īrc de Triomphe Recommended Ride: Opel Astra This around-the-horn race allows you to loop the Arc, and then come back. ![]() Use it to get a sense of how everything works in the game. ![]() More Hints: This is a very easy course with little turning. ![]() The only thing that might give you problems is the fountain right before the end of the level. Just follow the yellow arrow at the top of the screen, and dodge traffic and obstacles as you weave through the course. Aside from the main undercover mode, there's some race modes and a free roam available, but these are only supplementary and don't entertain for long.A Fresh Start Recommended Ride: Opel Astra This is a pretty straightforward race, and it primarily exists for you to get a sense of how these checkpoint races will go from here on out. but this may be true in real life as well as in game. Paris feels as if it has more character and point of interest than Washington D.C. The two cities featured in the game are fairly large in size, especially for the era though they're certainly not as large as their real life counterparts. Alternative paint jobs for each car are hidden around the two cities, though they're not really worth collecting unless you're a completionist. The range of cars featured in the game is good, although there's a large amount of service vehicles such as taxis, ambulances, and delivery cars rather than licensed vehicles. The overall sense of speed isn't anything special, and often 120mph on the speedometer will feel more like 60-70mph. While the handling is arcade like for the most part, it's pretty easy to get used to and despite crashes being difficult to avoid sometimes, driving is still a fun experience.
